I have found Second Life helpful for my personal use. I am amazed at all the information that's available. I never thought of Second Life as being a resource. Students can have some wonderful experiences in Second Life as opposed to textbooks. It definitely is a fun way of learning. You can't create an avatar by reading a chapter in your history book or take a ride on the Mars Exploration Rover. Second Life is a teaching tool for teachers and students.
